An excellent way to start off 2007.
some thoughts: the world doesn’t need another political blog, or even someone posting links to music. so, from here on this, i’ll just be posting about one video a week from the various shows i attend. deal?
Mr Neil Haverty has a new project…and it’s good. Damn good. Let’s hope they get something recorded for 2007.

go read the Death and Life of Great American Cities. right now.

Belle & Sebastian played the Docks in Toronto last week, and while it was excellent music, the venue was weak at best. According to their website, the band agrees. Oddly enough, the discussion on the Israel/Palestine issue is an interesting and surprising read too. Rock Paper Pixels has some great photos from the show on Saturday.
Last summer , Aaron Riches of Royal City and some guy from Exclaim sat down and talked about the history of the band/Guelph/Three Gut etc… read it here
Things i didn’t know about Royal City:
-Aaron Riches had a children’s book written about him by a very well known Canadian author
-Feist was in the band for half a year or so
-The band played Whitehorse, Yukon.
-They toured opening for Sarah Harmer
-Sufjan Stevens’ apartment was the first place they ever played in New York.
According to everyone’s favourite message board, something could be up in 2006. link
(and here’s some mp3′s for those new to the band)
Royal City…I never saw them play live, not even once…I suck. I suck so bad that I was given tickets to see them play twice, but both times I didn’t bother to go, since I didn’t like their music at the time. And the second show that I skipped, the opener was some guy named Sufjan Stevens.

Meanwhile, the Fox News scroll bar would like to inform us:
…the sheep off in a garbage can…
see, there are important things in the world.
